Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

From Australia's oldest family owned vineyard (est. 1849), "Signature" is one of their finest wines, which has been made now for ~50 years (first vintage was 1962).

A blend of Cab Sauv and Shiraz, the Aussies have mastered the art of pairing the elegance and complexity of Cab Sauv, with the richness and ripeness of Shiraz.

The 2009 "Signature" blends the two signature varietals from the famous Barossa Valley in South Australia bringing out the best characteristics of each.

Loaded with deep dark fruit, field berries, cola, mint, cedar and spice. Full bodied, rich palate packed with silky smooth delicious stewed fruit - very elegant!

Tasted November 2013 - 92 points.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The Signature was a bit hit with me. Signature is made from hand-picked grapes from the best vintages of Cab Sauv and Shiraz. Starting with its intense purple-black colour, this one is all about cassis, opening on the nose with aromas of cassis, blackberries and floral notes of violet. The palate reveals cassis and blackberry jam and pepper-wow! A delicious long, peppered cassis finish makes this a perfect match with Beef Wellington.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Only the best of the best make it into Signature. Full-bodied and handsome with great ageing potential. Ripe red fruit, jam, mint, cassis, violets and graphite. Balanced and layered. This wine is elegant but will not apologize for hitting you in the face. A good peppery finish.
This wine wears his "Big Brother" label well. Red meat please mate!
Valérie Dufour - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A nice and aromatic wine (red cherry, violet, cedar). Complex. Fresh. Velvety tannins. A very good wine with elegance.
