An incredible wine for the price! Gorgeous layers of plush black plums with a smoky weave that takes you right along to the finish. Lovely!

Yumm! Lovely warming aromas of baking spice, sweet spice, black pepper, oak, and some dried fruit notes - mostly date.

Sweet spices move to the background and the cedar, and fruit notes move to the front, accompanied by smooth tannins.
The body of this wine is shown by its warmth, and slow-moving colour-extracteed tears.

A pitty this is not available in our market!

Chile is only country still producing carmenere commercially; it should have a rich and spicy character when doing it right. Very late-ripening grape that can show green notes if picked too early.

This wine is a deep burgundy. Intense and silky. Clove, cinnamon, anise, cocao powder, cherry, cassis, and fig. Smokey and caramelized aromas. Wonderful for a peppery steak or an Indian-spiced lamb.

Great Carmenere - lots of complexity on the nose and palate. Truly representative of the style - lots of leather, pepper, dark fruit, cloves, leather,fig and spice. Tannins were not overpowering and hints of tobacco on the palate shone through. Silky and smooth this wine could age week for the next 5 years.

The Max Reserva Carmenere is an exceptional wine for under $20.

Lots of aromas here! Spice, dark fruit, stewed fruit, clove, pepper, a touch of hearbaceousness (typical for Carmenere and appreciated at this concentration), all making for a very inviting and complex nose.

Loads of flavour too, reminiscent of the complex array of warm baking aromas detected with the nose. Ample tannins yet very soft for such a young wine. Silky smooth, this is a wine you want to buy a case of and enjoy it often or cellar for upwards of 5 years to enjoy its evolution.

A very food friendly wine that would be ideal with your favourite roast or stew. Perfect for Fall and Winter when these types of dishes become increasingly popular. If roasts and stews aren't on the menu, not to worry, this wine would drink great on its own too.

The vintage we tasted was actually 2010. This signature Chilean Carmenere was smooth and fragrant, full bodied and inky. Clove, black cherry, leather, fig and pepper aromas. Pepper,clove and vanilla shone on the palate. Good balance with oak and alcohol. Long cherry finish. Age worthy 5-8 years.

Loved this complex Carmenere with its intense colour, fragrant nose of fig, blk pepper, leather and dark red fruit. A layered palate with vanilla,dried dark red fruit, fig,and spice. Soft tannins, well-balanced.

Deep, dark, glass staining red colour. Intense berry, spice (mostly pepper, some anis) and tobacco aromas. Medium to full bodied, tannins are supple but firm. The flavours are what you look for in a well done carmenere: rich spicy character, dark fruit and well integrated oak. LCBO does not carry but SAQ does.

Beautiful carmine red with bright violet at the rim.
The nose and palate stand out for the black fruit
framed by notes of spice and ground coffee. This is a wine with good structure and fine-grained tannins that are still very young and promise good longevity in the bottle.
