Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From McLaren Valley, Austalia a dry, aromatic and silky Shiraz with dark cherry and chocolate fragrances. The palate is Black Forest cake- in- a-glass with spicy oak elements. Smooth tannins and long mocha finish. Delicious!

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

On first sniff your senses are assailed with aromas of jammy fruit; blackberry and strawberry with that promised chocolate layer. Flavours of cooked fruit, vanilla and spice. Well balanced with all three; tannins, fruit and acidity. Medium to full bodied with a long lingering fruit and chocolate finish! Great match for beef and roasted meats!
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Who likes chocolate? If you answered yes, this smooth Shiraz from McLaren Vale is guaranteed to please! Mocha and dark fruit on the nose and ripe cherry and chocolate on the palate. Sounds like dessert, but it paired very nicely with juicy lamb burgers too.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The aromas is chocolate, as promised. Really, more like a nice chocolate liqueur, and also black cherry, graphite, and a little dried herb. The taste is lush with rich jammy fruit, fine tannins and medium acidity.
McLaren Vale enjoys a maritime climate that creates that lush middle palate in its wines. This wine is savoury, juicy and meaty with mouth-watering flavours of fleshy ripe blackberry and black plum. Spicy with dark pepper on the finish. Pair with grilled meats. - Community Wine Reviews
