Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Priya: I love a good ripasso - it has the fruity full-flavoured stewed berries taste I prefer. This one had all that but a bit too much tannins or sugar. Whatever it was, it dried my mouth out a bit. Better on the second night - maybe it just needed to mellow out. Overall quite enjoyable. 86 pts

Alex: Indeed, richly stewed black cherry fruit here, with accents of dark chocolate, prune and cherry cola. It is showing more balance on the 2nd day, and appears less sugary. It's on the bigger side of medium-bodied, with a gentle tang and a heady, chocolate cherry finish of moderate length. An overtly fruity ripasso, and a benchmark in that camp due to its wide availability and richness, however for my taste there are better at under $20, though they don't last on the LCBO shelves...85 pts
