Full-bodied, lusciously rich and deep with a terrific long finish. Aromas of fleshy sweet dark fruit, a hint of pepper and savoury goodness. Mouth-watering and delicious. Dense, complex and concentrated with black fruit, anise, violets and spices. Amazing quality for the price. Terrific with grilled pork shops, beef or lamb with rosemary.

Food pairings: slow-braised beef cheek, lamb shanks, grilled pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A delicious blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro from Australia's Yalumba Winery which shows ripe blackberry & cassis on nose. The palate repeats with pronounced fruitiness, spice, mocha and slight oak. Full-bodied, rustic tannins and a long tart fruit finish. Would be terrific with lamb or pork.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Aromas and flavors of explosive black cherry and black fruit. The palate offers some spice, earth and a bit of oaky vanilla before ending with a velvety finish. A great value wine that would pair well with grilled pork chops.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Delicious full bodied GSM with wonderful aromas of dark fruit, chocolate, pipe tobacco and warm sweet spice. Black cherry, blackberry and white pepper come through on palate - lovely lasting finish. Paired great with hamburgers topped with blue cheese.
This is an incredible robust red wine for the price! The Grenache in the blend gives this wine an extra richness, while the Mataro lends rustic tannins and the Shiraz, fleshy fruit. It's a terrific combo! - Community Wine Reviews
