What a vibrant, terrific wine! This rich, round and full-bodied Australian red wine is a blend of Shiraz and Cabernet. Firm tannins. Decant 1 hour and pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Shiraz food pairings: rich beef, lamb dishes, roast duck.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Black fruit, oak and eucalyptus on the nose with toasty blackberry and some earth notes on the palate. Finishes with moderate tannins so advice decanting well before serving. Tastes March 2018.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Approachable, crowd pleasing appeal, accessibly priced. Uber tasty, juicy strawberry and cassis, earthy minerality and a hint of leather. Balanced, medium grippy tannins, medium alcohol. Decanted 2h, paired well with braised beef tacos. Tasted 2014 vintage in March 2018. 90 points
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Funky, sweet and delicious, this wine is loaded with black briar, cola, sassafras, black plum skin and pressed dark flower notes. Great wine for the grill. 90 points.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby in colour with aromas of black cherry, plum, blackberries and mint. It is full bodied with well balanced acidity & tannins with flavours of cherry, blackberry and spice. This will pair nicely with grilled red meats at your next BBQ. Tasted on March 11, 2018.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Although it's a bit too sweet for my palate, I like the structure and the dry finish of this wine. Definitely a well-made cab at this price point.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

A good wine for grilled meats found within a whimsical bottle.…
Presentation: Fun, artsy, whimsical, with a splash of colour
Appearance: Medium-deep ruby
Nose: Pronounced nose, dark cherry, blackberry, medicinal notes, some green and a little noticeable alcohol
Taste: Dry, medium-full body, medium-high acidity, round but noticeably drying tannins, sour blackberry and cherry, green, wood and earth
Finish: medium sour, earthy finish
Overall impression: Liked the bottle and the wine had good complexity. However, we found the alcohol overpowered some of the smells and we did not get much pepper in the wine. Having said this, we see this pairing very well with grilled meats.
Value: 2/5
