Classic Australian shiraz nose of dark, fleshy ripe blackberries, a hint of oak and a mouth-watering juiciness. Loaded with delicious dark fruit flavours, incredible depth, concentration and length. Benchmark shiraz.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This wine holds a dear place in my heart. It's the wine I had Wolf Blass autograph when I met the legendary winemaker! Australia has built a reputation on a great Shiraz and its wine like this one that sets the foundation. It's one of those great full bodied wines with big fruit flavours and an intense palate. Aged in French oak makes for a smooth supple wine with a great finish
Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The 2008 Gold Label Barossa Shiraz, aged in new and seasoned French Oak, is a medium bodied, fruity to integrated wine, with intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry, faint pine, vanilla and clove. It is slightly acid forward, has subtle to refined tannins and a long finish. Drink-when: now to 2020, cellar standing up (screw cap). Drink-how: either with food or as a standalone sipper. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 89-90 pts. Tasted Sept /12.
