This generous Pinot Noir was aged for 16 months in French oak barriques. A lovely, layered New Zealand Pinot Noir, with luscious notes of cherries and plums on the nose and palate. Silky smooth texture and medium body. Pair with seared tuna or roast turkey.

Pinot Noir food pairings: prime rib, turkey, pork tenderloin, mushroom and truffle dishes, grilled salmon.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This beautiful Marlborough Pinot shows concentrated tart cherry, vanilla, baking spice, sous bois and milk chocolate with an aromatic nose and finely balanced palate. Aged 16 mos in French oak barriques. Showcases fine New Zealand winemaking. Highly versatile with food, from duck to turkey to chocolate mousse.

Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted Aug 22nd, 2018. Colour pale ruby. Legs thick. Aromas and flavours of, cherry, cranberry, raspberry, clove, mushroom. Taste, dry, fruity, concentrated berry fruit, medium bodied, smooth tannin, mouthwatering, alcohol plus, finish, sour cherry, fruity, mouthwatering and long. 16 months in French oak, gives this wine a rich flavour and structure. Match it with roasted duck. I had a large grilled chicken breast with herbs with this wine.
