Such a pretty medium-bodied red wine! This New Zealand Pinot Noir offers seductive aromas of fleshy strawberry and field raspberries, yet is dry and mouth-watering for food. Gentle acidity pulls it together as a dinner companion or an aperitif. Great value.

Pinot Noir food pairings: roast chicken, planked salmon.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Whitehaven continues to produce one of my favorite Pinot Noir wines out of New Zealand. I had this wine last night and again it didn't disappoint. Layers of complexity, this is a beautiful wine that stays on the palate. Beautiful flavors of cherry, strawberry, and spice make for an extremely delicious food friendly wine.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Light to medium bodied, strawberry, cherry and leather aromas - overall more fruity than earthy. A hint of caramel comes through in the nose as well, and carries through on the palate. Great berry flavours. Would love to have this with a turkey dinner.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a Pinot with some substance on the nose and the palate. The aroma jumps out of the glass at you. Wafting leather, cherry and fruit aromas entice. New Zealand Pinot's are my favourites and this will be added to the list!
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A great example of New Zealand pinot noir. Fresh cherry and cranberry with a bit of mushroom and earth, this wine has a fresh acidity that keeps on giving. Would be beautiful paired with polenta with a mushroom ragout.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Earth, mushroom, new leather, blueberry, cherry, and cranberry aromas abound. The taste is slightly fruitier than the aroma with tart cranberry topping the list of flavours. Great acidity, a little bit of fne tannins. A solid Pinot Noir; powerful in its subtlety.
Shelley Harris rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pungent aromas of berries and cherries and a refreshing cherry taste. Would complement an outdoor dinner complete with grilled mixed vegetables seasoned with a touch of balsamic reduction.
Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

On the nose, there is a nice mix of earthy tones and fruits, although i did notice a little bit of acetone.Good fresh attack then a certain bitterness kicks in, a bit like eating a strawberry-rhubarb pie. I found it had a little tannic bite to it. I would love some dark turkey meat, with the stuffing and cranberry sauce to make it shine.
