Wow, look out: here's a relatively new Niagara winery to watch! This lovely, full-bodied Chardonnay offers seductive aromas of toasted bread, green apple and smoke. Very Burgundian in its balance and Meursault in its elegance. This wine was aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. Pair with roasted chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: Asian dishes with black bean, steamed mahi mahi, pasta with tomato sauce, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Pale straw yellow with delicious aromas and flavours of buttered toast, citrus rind, vanilla, guava and a touch of creamy coconut. Extra dry with a rich, buttery mouthfeel and a long citrus/oaky finish.
Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This full-bodied white was aged on its lees for a year in French oak, which comes across in its toasted notes and tropical fruit. It had really nice body with the perfect amount of acidity to balance it.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Soft and gentle oaky notes (burnt caramel, butterscotch) weave through juicy, zesty lemon/citrus flavours in this elegant Chardonnay. Nice long finish.
This Niagara white wine is made by Westcott Estate winery from Chardonnay grapes. The wine is aged for 1 year in oak barrels, with its lees stirred to add creaminess and richness. About two-thirds of the barrels are new French oak. The winery's Reserve barrels are taken out of the production process, and then used for the Estate wines. The 2013 vintage allowed the winemaker to leave the grapes on the vine for about another month longer than is usual for the harvest, particularly compared to the 2012 vintage. - Community Wine Reviews
