Reviews and Ratings

Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Bright and festive gold in a the glass, notes of tropical fruits and spiced oak carry through in the flavours, mouthwatering mouth feel with a long ripe pineapple finish.
Beautiful with a duck dishes.
Tasted Nov 2016.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Morning Fog refers to the "morning coastal fog pushed by Pacific wind streams into the bowl of the San Francisco Bay and lured inland by Livermore Valley’s unique East-West orientation" as per Wente's website. Subdued aromas of vanilla, oak and tropical fruit. Buttery on both the nose and palate with a good balance of acidity. I would pair this with a butternut squash risotto. Tasted November 29, 2016.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Quite a pleasant and well-priced example of an oaked Cali Chard. Tropical fruit (think pineapple) hits the nose first off, followed subtle oak spiciness. Creamy mouthfeel, citrus pith, touch of oak spice, caramel, nicely integrated acidity with slight bitter note on the finish. Great with smoked salmon pate.
Neil Phillips rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Aromas of baked apple, mango, Meyer lemon peel, toast, toffee and vanilla.

On the palate, apple, mango, caramel, butter and a touch of almond.

Dry with medium acid, medium+ body and intensity and a creamy finish of medium length.

For those looking for a nice buttery - but not too oaky - California Chardonnay, this fits the bill nicely at a decent price point.

Tasted November 2016.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

A pleasantly balanced Chardonnay. Butter and fruity crispness blend very nicely for an enticing aroma followed by a slightly acidic but smooth finish.

Tasted March 31, 2016
