Reviews and Ratings

Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fresh bouquet of pear and cherry blossoms with hints of vanilla and mint, transform into a crisp and mouthwatering finish.
Would be perfect with movie popcorn on date night!
Tasted May 2017.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely, fresh and complex, with lemon, grapefruit, hazelnuts on the palate and a long, dry, crisp and nutty finish. Gruners are frequently overlooked, but they are such a treat and fabulous with a variety of dishes.
Our best Grüner Veltliner wines grow on the warm loess soils of the Johannesbergen vineyards: full-bodied, complex, long lasting.
Soil: Loess. Planted with various blooming herbs and clover types to promote biodiversity and soil organisms (earthworms).
Harvest: Picked in several rounds in late October, hand picking with strict selection – without botrytis.
Grape processing & vinification: De-stemmed, 6 hours of maceration with moderate must oxidisation, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel vats (20°C); left on its lees until March; not filtered before bottling.
Vanilla aromas, plus clementine; creamy notes on the palate, hint of white melon, distinct extract sweetness, long finish.
