Reviews and Ratings

Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From the Atlantic side of Patagonia, the Wapisa ("Whale") Cabernet Sauvignon opens with herbal and baking spice aromas. Medium-bodied, savoury on the palate with hints of orange zest. The tannins mellow out to a juicy finish. Pair with beef or consider turkey as well to compliment the traditional spices of the cuisine that are evident in the wine's flavours.
Jisun Hahn CAPS Certified Somm rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This deeply coloured Cabernet Sauvignon is from a newer wine region, Rio Negro which tends to be cooler than other wine growing regions of Argentina. This has resulted in a more medium body Cabernet Sauvignon with layers of cinnamon, cloves and herbs surrounded by a taught tannic structure. Ripe black cherries and blackcurrant round out the fruit and evidence of graphite linger on the palate. Enjoy this wine now with roast lamb and garlic fingerling potatoes tossed with olive oil and herbes de provence.
from San Javier, Río Negro, Patagonia, Wapisa Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 is great value under $19. Fragrant with baking spice aromas right off the top, dry, medium-plus-bodied with red currant, fresh herbs, blood orange zest, baking spice flavours, juicy on the palate. Tannins are velvety. - Community Wine Reviews
