From Clare Valley and Coonawarra wine region, Wakefield Jaraman 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is a sniffer with its dark berries, eucalyptus, chocolate and sweet spicy tobacco aromas. The wine is dry, full-bodied and savoury with ripe dark plum, mocha, menthol, cedar and well-integrated oak spice flavours vibrant on the palate. Tannins are smooth and rounded. For this vintage 52% of the grapes were sourced from the Clare Valley with 48% from the Coonawarra. Awarded Gold at the 2022 Melbourne International Wine Competition. Drink or hold.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of red cherry, currant, tobacco, and eucalyptus. Full bodied, bright on the palate, with soft, but drying tannins. Berry notes are bright and popping with some nice acidity, and there are notes of menthol and eucalyptus, with some hints of oak and smoke on the finish. Enjoy with grilled sausages or burgers.
