This lovely and enticing Sicilian red wine offers rich aromas of fleshy ripe black berries and spice. Ripe cherry liqueur on the nose with a black heart through the palate. Full-bodied and brooding, with black raspberry and dark prune notes. Pair with hamburgers.

Nero D'avola food pairings: prime rib, brisket, leg of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Sicily has outstanding wine grape growing conditions with a warm, dry climate and mountainous areas that dot the landscape for cooler-climate vineyards. Wines are made from indigenous and international varietals in wine styles from red, white to dessert. Sicilian wineries have been modernizing their winemaking and viticulture techniques allowing for more of the wine character and expression of this island's unique terroir. This red wine made from the Nero D'avola indigenous to Sicily, Feudo Montoni Vrucara (2009) is rich cherry liqueur on the nose with a black heart through the palate. Full-bodied and brooding, with black raspberry and dark prune notes. A wine looking for a fight but not with your food. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
