Grillo food pairings: grilled sardines, fish tacos, calamari, salads topped with fresh steamed shrimp.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Tropical fruit aromas mix with melon, peach, and apple. Crisp acidity with a soft texture. Peach and floral through the finish with a mild herbal/spice hint. A very good and interesting white wine made organically from the Grillo grape. The perfect wine for Sicilian seafood or sipping on a Mediterranean beach.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Another great option for fresh seafood! Aromas of white peach, fresh floral blossoms, lime zest, and a bit of wet stone. Light in the palate with slight citrus notes and a stony minerality on the finish.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Grillo is Sicily's primary indigenous white grape and a major component of Marsala. It has an interesting, aromatic, sweet nose with a hint of cloves- so aromatic it is reminiscent of vermouth. Clean, smooth and medium bodied with refreshing grapefruit on the palate. If you are looking for something different as a summer wine you have nothing to lose in trying this one at this price. Good value. Would pair well with seafood risotto or Fettuccine Alfredo. Tasted July 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Made from the Grillo grape variety that is indigenous to Sicily this wine boasts tropical notes of pineapple and papaya. The texture is round and provides a distinct melon mouth feel. Candy white peach on the nose; Fresh acidity and a slight olive pit bitterness at the end. Decent for the price.
Produced by Colomba Bianca, this is a fresh and zesty summer sipping patio wine made from the Grillo wine grape from the Sicily wine region. Vitese 2017 is great value under $15, so fragrant with white floral aromas on the nose, dry and mouth-watering with grapefruit, dried herbs and honey stone fruit flavours on the palate. So refreshing. Chill and enjoy on its own or with grilled calamari. - Community Wine Reviews
