Riesling food pairings: grilled chicken with lemongrass stalk, spicy pasta dishes, Feta cheese, butternut squash risotto, duck liver pate.

Reviews and Ratings

Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

This is an amazing Riesling for the price, that everyone should discover. Lots of interesting, typical notes of cold climate Rieslings with a touch of sweetness and high acidity. This would go very well with spicy Thai food or it is incredibly easy to drink on it's own. Do not miss this one!
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A beautiful nose with ripe honeyed peach, subtle minerality and white floral notes. The palate shows beautiful ripe white stone fruit melodiously woven with slight minerality, Smooth satiny mouthfeel and a long silky-smooth ripe peach finish.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Pale yellow, classic Riesling nose with citurs lemon/lime, honey, mild petrol note and chalky mineral. Just off dry, with honeysuckle, pear, citrus and lovely texture which make it hard to put the glass down. Ontario is making some outstanding Rieslings and this one is a perfect example. Pan fried pickerel or sushi/maki rolls. 91+ Tasted April 2015
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Peach and floral aromas and flavors with the palate offering some honey glazed pear.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Having been to @VinelandEstates and tasted many of their wines I am already a fan! This Riesling from the vineyard surrounding the wine buildings never disappoints. Hints of sweetness, peach and lots of minerality on the nose. Nice acidity but still a smooth mouthfeel, this is a great sipper on its own or have with a grilled cheese and apple sandwich!
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Spring garden in a glass! Wonderful floral aromas on the nose, followed by flavours of pear and sweet apple. A perfect pairing for arugula and goat cheese salad, or on the back deck with friends! Thank you @VinelandEstates for bringing on spring!
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of yellow and green apple, petrol, and white flowers. A bright, fruity mouth-feel with the favours mainly being apple and pear. A perfect barbecued pork wine.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Delicate orchard fruit, with a hint of petrol and minerality. A tasty Riesling from one of the finest regions in the world to produce this noble grape, Niagara. Tasted April 2015. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Petrol, apple and lime nose
Sweet Apple, zesty lime palate, light body
Lingering appley finish
Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 78/100 with the following review:

Clear yellow almost uncolored.

Closed nose.
Aromas of honey and mineral.

The palate is fresh, delicate and short.

Take it like aperitif or pair it with shrimp linguine.

Serve it at 8-10 degrees.

Ready to drink.
The St. Urban Vineyard was planted in 1979 and is now one of the oldest Riesling sites in Canada. The vines are planted on the advantageous elevation of the Niagara Escarpment. Brian Schmidt is winemaker. The 2012 vintage of the Elevation Riesling has great cellar aging potential. - Community Wine Reviews
