Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

I think 2017 must have been a great year for many full-bodied red and Bordeaux-style wines in the South Oliver/Osoyoos wine region in British Columbia. The few I have tried have been so lush and plushy like this absolutely sultry and savoury, ready-to-drink-now Bordeaux-style Merlot, Cab. Sauvignon, Malbec and Cab Franc blend from VinAmité Cellars. Compass 2017 is drinking beautifully now and rich with dark plum, dark cherry compote, chocolate and balanced with perfect pitch acidity. The savouriness and fresh acidity of the wine was a perfect match to the Prosciutto, salami Parma, black olive, cremini mushroom and bell pepper, cheesy pizza. Delish! Tasted November 2023

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
