Blackberry and purple plum depth on the palate of this Single Vineyard Gran Reserva red wine; it's also juicy, full-bodied and smooth. Terrific pleasure in the glass. Open it tonight with some pizza. Notes of black pepper and spice on the finish. Pair with grilled pork chops.

Carmenère food pairings: wild boar stew, roast turkey, hot roast beef sandwiches with gravy.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A big surprise! Aromas show ripe red berries but pungent green bell pepper and jalapeno spice notes. Floral and grahite minerality are also present. Palate is more inviting but underripe green notes are still present. This wine is not necessarily faulty, it's just not my cup of tea. I say pair green with green though. Enjoy now through 2020 and a pair with chimichurri beef skewers should be glorious! Tasted May 2016. @sommsosa @bespoketastings
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a Carmenere lovers Carmenere. Lots of ripe red fruit with underlying fresh cut green pepper( in a good way.) It's full-bodied with medium balanced acidity and a long smoky finish. Good complexity and value for $16. Perfect BBQ hamburger wine or stuffed roasted green peppers.

Chile's signature red wine grape, Carmenère, gets a dash of Syrah here to add more plushness to the finished wine. Chilean Vintners are exploring the benefits of single-vineyard sites. Queulat was an enchanted city as legend says built in gold in southern Chile, thus the gold Q in the name of this wine. The winery references the magic of snowdrifts for modern day marketing magic. - Community Wine Reviews
