A Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon with a splash of Cab Franc and Petit Verdot with earthy, dark berry aromas on the nose; dry, full-bodied with black raspberry, dark cherry, mint and oak spice flavours and a mouth-watering finish. Tannins are structured. Pour with a grilled rack of lamb.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: pizza, pasta, rare steaks, pork tenderloin, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Always delicious, the Vina Tarapaca Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested in the Maipo Valley in Chile, offers delicious fruit quality and solid winemaking, year after year. The 2018 delivers aromas of raspberry, black cherry, black pepper, dried herbs, leather vanilla and oak. A full body with tangible tannins and well layered acidity, give the wine a long and delicious fruity finish. Palate: black plum, cranberry, black pepper, clay pot, mocha, leather and oak. Enjoy!
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lots of right is happening in this red blend from Chile’s Valle del Maipo appellation. The blend bill is Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Syrah.

The aroma evokes a stunning assortment of berries, plums and herbal notes. This Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend feels pleasingly silky, extra dry, full bodied with moderate touch tannins and a no hurry to leave finish. It has delicious flavours - more fresh than ripe – that taste like dark berries and cherries accented with sweet spices. I particularly like how this red feels. Serve this offering from Viña Tarapacã with savoury pork tenderloin.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Consistently a great value! Aromas of raspberry, cherry and eucalyptus with hints of dried herbs. oak and leather. Full bodied with some soft, drying tannins, and medium+ acidity. Fruit notes are dark berry and ripe currant, with some herbaceous notes and a hint of leather and a soft hint of vanilla on the finish. Enjoy this wine with any grilled meat or a hearty mushroom dish.
Viña Tarapacá Gran Reserva 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a fleshy, full-bodied savoury Cabernet red wine blend (with some Cab Franc and Petit Verdot) with ripe black raspberry, black plum, dark berry and toasty oak spice flavours on the palate. One for the BBQ. - Community Wine Reviews
