From the Maipo Valley, Tarapacá Gran Reserva 2019 is a 145th Anniversary Special Edition blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 16% Syrah sourced from vineyards planted on the granitic hillsides at the Tarapacá property in Isla de Maipo. Dry, medium-plus-bodied with juicy acidity and lots of bright dark berry, red berry, cherry fruit, savoury herbs, pepper spice flavours on the palate. The wine is still quite youthful and there are many years to go before it starts to show its best. Drink or hold.

Food pairings: juicy pork chops, lamb shanks in a rich mushroom sauce, Osso Buco.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lovely blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 16% Syrah. Aromas of raspberry, red cherry and blackberry, with hints of smoke and graphite. Full bodied, with bright acidity on the palate. Berry notes are bright and ripe, and there are some smoke and peppery notes on the finish. Enjoy with any grilled meats.
