Produced by Henri Gualco, Récolt., this is signature Rioja with dusty, dry nuances; not fruit-forward in the slightest. Full-bodied and smooth with terrific mouth-watering acidity for a wide range of dishes, from steak to grilled chicken or pork chops. Lovely smoky finish on this wine.

Food pairings: steak, grilled chicken, pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Cedar, cigar box, smoke, blackberry and black cherry aromas accompanied by a little bit of eucalyptus and graphite give this wine a refined 'late night' feel. The taste is full-bodies with black and tart cherries and a little grippy tannins for a velvet mouth-feel. This would be a great steak wine, but perhaps even better with hard cheeses.
This full-bodied Spanish red wine features smoky notes on the nose, dried red fruit and herbs. A lingering finish adds to the attraction of this wine. There's both elegance and balance in this blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50% Garnacha grapes. This wine was aged for 8 months in the winery's cellar before release. - Community Wine Reviews
