Produced by Vinos Cobos, this towering Argentine Malbec wine was aged 18 months in French and American oak and wasn’t fined or filtered. A deeply powerful, concentrated and extracted red wine from Argentina's flagship grape Malbec, with aromas with black fruit, smoke and mocha-rich coffee. Full-bodied, supple with a warm finish. Try it with grilled steak.

Malbec food pairings: venison filet mignon with red wine gravy, grilled bison strip steaks, goose and duck sausage cassoulet.

Just when I’m ready to throw in the towel on (most) Argentine Malbecs, I drink an offering from Cobos and it settles my nerves. The 2014 Bramare reaches near classic quality, with a core of black fruit, decayed violets, coffee, smoke, and dark chocolate. There’s spice and rolled tobacco, along with mulled blackberry on the finish. Malbec done extremely right. 94 Points.

On the nose, this Malbec has aromas of blueberry, cedar, dried petals, espresso, and cloves.

On the palate, there are dark berry flavours, as well as chocolate, espresso and a touch of smoke and cooking spices. It is full bodied and the tannins are well integrated with the acidity and body of the wine. I recommend this one!

Viña Cobos Bramare 2014 is a full-bodied, unfiltered, deep ruby Malbec from the Uco Valley, Mendoza. The wine spent 18 months in French and American oak.
