Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of dark cherry, black pepper, eucalyptus and graphite. Full bodied, medium tannins and bright acidity. Enjoy with a grilled steak.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Green pepper, smoke, and earthy notes with fresh black cherry, plum, and cassis. Good acidity and soft, round tannins. Palate reflects the nose with an enjoyable combo of fresh dark fruit and herbaceous notes. Aged for 13 months in French oak, 20% new with Malbec constituting 14% of the final blend. Roasted mushrooms with thyme, moussaka (lamb or vegetarian), or braised beef would pair nicely.
Vasse Felix Filius 2016 is a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with about 15% Malbec in the blend adding some blueberry and savoury spice notes to layers of dark cherry, vanilla and smoky flavours on the palate. Produced by winemaker, Virginia Willcock, the wine was matured in French oak barrels for one year. - Community Wine Reviews
