Natalie's Score: 90/100

A lovely mature Italian red wine. Firm grip on the palate so decant 1-2 hours. Seduces you with savoury, meaty, big black fruit but then on the palate it’s far more subtle and leathery long. Pair with grilled lamb. O

Montepulciano D'abruzzo food pairings: meaty pasta and rich tomato sauce, rustic vegetarian lasagne, grilled beef and game sausages.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Stunning offering that is holding up as it shoulders it's 12th birthday. Lovely aromas and flavours of crushed plum, blackberry and black currant supported by earth and mushroom notes. A hit of dried herb on the finish. 91 Points.
Valle Reale 20016 is a rich and robust Montepulciano D'abruzzo from the Abruzzo wine region. Look for ripe blueberries, blackberries, plum and cracked pepper on this lush and meaty red. Pair with a roast of pork. This vintage received 3 Glasses out of 3 from Gambero Rosso Italian Wines, 2017. - Community Wine Reviews
