A modern-style, full-bodied Rioja red blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Maturana with tons of dark fruit, licorice, earth and smoke, generous with ripe dark fruit, anise and smoky flavours on the palate. Very approachable now. Good acidity and fool-friendly, pair with a roast of pork.

Food pairings: pasta with a tomato sauce, roasted venison, beef and veggie stew, leg of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A superb wine from the Rioja region of Spain, the Inspiracion Seleccion 2015, from the Bodegas Valdemar, shows stunning aromas of sugarplum, fig, black pepper, mustard seed, parmesan cheese, cinnamon and cigar box. Made from 80% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 10% Maturana, this medium-bodied Spaniard shows balance and structure, and provides a well defined and delicious finish. Palate: raisin, fig, dried leaf, pastrami, tobacco, cocoa and oak. Enjoy!
Valdemar Inspiración 2015 is a rich 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano grapes red wine blend under $20. Lovely ripe and juicy cherry, red plum, leather, anise and mocha flavours with a smooth and lingering finish. balanced and very approachable now, as is the price. - Community Wine Reviews
