Lovely black plums and berries roll through your senses with this full-bodied red. Rich and smoothly textured with good grip and structure. This is a consistently good producer year after year; one you can trust.

Cabernet Blend food pairings: rare to medium grilled red meats, meat pies.

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Trius Red 2008 has a lovely brick color. Its blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc releases aromas of dried plum, asparagus, tobacco, smoke, tree moss, oak and a light touch of leather. With a long finish and full body, the aging phenomenon transformed this wine’s tannins into a silk finish. Balanced and well structured after 10 years, the palate shows flavors of plum, cigar box, pepper and smoky oak. Pair with BBQ steak, of course! Enjoy!

Andre reviewed this wine as follows:

This is one of my "go to" Ontario wines. I think it's funny that after speaking to several wine makers and wineries many were unhappy with the 2008 year. That being said this is an excellent Red blend and I think for many people the benchmark for what a great Ontario blend should be.

I called this a party wine, because you could bring this to a party and satisfy even the pickiest (snobbiest) of red wine drinkers as you get a perfect matching of Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and Merlot.
