Natalie's Score: 90/100 A lip-smacking, delicious Argentine red wine made from the country's most iconic red grape Malbec. This wine is 100% unoaked, so the fleshy black plum and fruit character shows through. It's full-bodied and ultra-smooth. Great value for this price. Pair with a pepper steak.

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Black plum, blackberry, cedar, eucalyptus, and a touch of dark chocolate in the aroma. Bright acidity, fine tannins, and a palate primarily of black cherry. Bright and fruity but with depth and character. Pair with hard cheeses.
Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: This 100% Malbec hails from selected vineyards in Mendoza’s Uco Valley. Full-bodied, rich, dark and mysterious, it makes for a perfect party red. Pronounced floral notes on the nose. Abundance of ripe, juicy black cherries and plums on the palate. Fresh and vibrant acidity, impressive fruit density and fine, silky tannins. Closes in a lingering mocha-tinged finish. Perfectly paired with summer BBQ, mature cheeses and dark chocolate. Tasted September 2017. Tania Thomas – www.runawaygrape.com
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Big and scrumptious. Generous dark fruit aromas in this unoaked Malbec from Argentina. Blackberry, plum, leather and mint flavours. Long, spicy finish. Excellent value wine. Pair with meat lovers pizza on game night!
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Pure Black Malbec, like its name has many black elements. To start, it is a deep inky purple colour with a deep purple hue. Lots of black and dark fruit that is deeply concentrated due to the 8 month period of lees contact. Rich blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate and dark skinned plums. Despite there being no tannins given from oak aging, there are many found here with the velvety and robust chewiness it leaves on the tongue. Full bodied with a long finish. Great for pairing with meaty full pastas like lasagna, fall root vegetables and game meats. Delivers delightfully dark, dazzling and dry.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Bright ruby colour. Cassis and plum aromas of medium intensity mixed with fragrant flowers. well-structured and balanced. Full bodied. Long and intense cherry finish. Score 90. (S.Segard, reviewed Sept 15, 2017)

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: By leaving out the oak in this Malbec the pure fruit really shines through. Blackberry, plum and blueberry on the nose and flavour. Tannins are full and mouth drying. Medium body with a long tannic finish with plenty of fresh fruit. Tasted Oct. 2/2016 Re-tasted this wine in April 2017 and it continues to evolve. Enjoyed it even more than last October. Tasted April 25/2017
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: A dark ruby 100% unoaked Malbec from Argentina's Mendoza region. Compared with the "Pure" Malbec, this "Pure Black" showed darker colour and more intense aromas of Damson Plum, dark cherries and blackberries. A smooth, silky palate displays concentrated plum, blueberry, cassis and mocha with subtle spicy touches. Delicious mocha notes on finish. This will pair well and offset spicy meat stews and semi-hard cheeses. A great choice for hearty fall dishes. Tasted September 2017
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: An abundance of black plum, cherry and blackberry on the nose with a hint of sweet spice on the nose and palate. Smooth tannins with full body. Pair with a juicy grilled burger. Tasted April 25, 2017.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: No oak was used during vinification, hence the Pure name. Aromas of black plums, white pepper, and a hint of mint, with a hit of pepper mid-palate and a persistent spicy finish. Wonderful with lamb dishes. Tasted April 2017.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Floral, plummy, jammy blueberry and spice aroma. Baking spice flavours are prominent on the palate with faint leather, dark chocolate, dried plum, and graphite notes. This meaty full-bodied red shows integrated acidity, developing tannins and a long finish. Enjoy with chimichurri steak. Tasted March 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
