Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Great value Malbec. Rich and supple, concentrated ruby red. 14.5% ABV. Plump dark ripe plums, blackberry on the nose and palate with secondary mocha, oak and floral notes. Robust and full bodied. Great balance! Tasted April 17, 2017 on Malbec World Day. Fantastic pairing with BBQ steak or gourmet burgers. 90 points. Yum!
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Black plum, blackberry, baking spice and mocha aromas. Full-bodied with velvety tannins. Smokey plum and dark chocolate on the palate. Long chocolate finish. Pair with braised beef.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Heady aromas of dark plums, cider and hints of sweet spice carry through in the mouth, with a hit of pepper mid-palate, and a lingering spicy finish.
Perfect with barbecued fare.
Tasted April 2017.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Fragrant, full-bodied, fantastic! Flavours of Damson plum jam on buttered toast and strong mocha coffee. Rich smooth mouthfeel and long mocha finish. Can't wait to enjoy this one with grilled lamb or bison burgers on the barbeque.
Tasted April 2016
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A deep purple, almost opaque Malbec with thick legs that speak to the 14.5% alcohol level. Aromas of sweet cherry, oak, smoke, coffee and vanilla. Rich mouthfeel with flavours of black cherry, blackberries and spice. Smooth tannins and low acidity. A nice Malbec for under $15. This is a juicy wine to pair with ribs slathered in bbq sauce.
Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fragrant, enticing nose. Oaked and fruity, with a nice balance thanks to the acidity. The pleasure of a bold and tasty red wine. Chicken thighs drenched in gravy, hearty burgers, or BBQ meats will make your eyes roll with this wine.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep, dark purple with smokey, caramel, black currant, spice and some volatile alcohol on the nose and palate. Great value in this ideal bbq wine.
