This stunning Niagara Gewurztraminer had 13 days skin contact, meaning the grape skins were in contact with the juice during fermentation for 13 days (which is a lot for a white wine). This lends extra flavour and depth and richness to the wine which has a viscous and unctuous mouth-coating texture. Pair with Asian dishes.

Gewurztraminer food pairings: baby greens salad, pork tenderloin, turkey breast, foie gras.

Reviews and Ratings

Simon Chen rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

a beautiful gewurz that is bone dry. If you like lychee, floral aromas and still craving for acidity and dryness, this is the gewurz to go for!. Almost same quality as what you can find for Alsace or germany dry gewruz!!
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Small-batch production of this beautiful dry Gewurtz crafted from hand-picked grapes. Very delicate aromas and subtle flavours of rose petal and lychee, with lingering rose petal finish.
Tasted Nov. 2018
Neil Phillips rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

What an intriguing wine.

Deep salmon with orange hues. Higher alcohol than anticipated - though I wouldn't have guessed it at 13.5%.

Aromatics are off the charts. The usual panoply of Gewurz aromas, but all somehow magnified. Imagine sitting in a flower garden eating Turkish delight and dried pineapple slices, perhaps with some ground pink peppercorns and star anise.

On the palate, a glorious jumble of all the above. Let this warm slightly, and the layers come out.

Most definitely this will appeal to some, and not to others. But incredibly well done.

A great example of the experimentation going on at Trail Estates.

Courtney Flood rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

flinty-floral (jasmine), bitter (grapefruit zest), and oily. Intensely smoky finish. Interesting, aromatic, and fresh. Great acidity, not at all sweet. pair with sushi, or a more typical pairing of green thai curry.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Yummy, peach and lychee fruit aromatics with lychee and zingy ginger spiciness on the finish. Pairs well with chicken and ginger stir fry. Tasted 2016 vintage in May 2018. 90 points
Luc Delorme rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The nose is surprisingly muted for a gewurz; the palate is also shows atypical constraint for a varietal that is generally very expressive. The experience of this wine is as much about texture and fell than it is about flavour. Rich and round, this gewurz has a satisfying mouth-filling roundness and viscosity to accompany the tropical fruit and floral flavours. The mid-length finish is buttery smooth and satisfying. Pair with a rich curry for maximum enjoyment.
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Nose: pretty, delicate rose petals, lychee nut, passion fruit
Palate: Dried floral and herbs, more lychee & Asian pear, light spice and minerally notes, medium plus bodied.
Pair with: not too spicy pork and poultry Asian dishes
