Natalie's Score: 89/100

An amazing value for this robust, delicious Italian red wine. Aromas of dark fruit, smoke and toasty oak. The word "Refosco" relates to a traditional family of Croatian grapes, especially in western Slovenia and Italy's Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. Further, "Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso" means "Refosco with the best of these grapes. Pair with grilled steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Plum, dark fruit, and black liquorice notes. Impressive tannins and acidity, well-structured wine with cellar potential. Incredible value, pick up a few and enjoy through 2023 with chicken parmesan, vegetarian lasagna, veal scaloppini and mushrooms.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

This is a cherry coloured, light and easy sipper. Smooth and fruity. Will be great for patio sipping alone or with bruschetta, pizza or pasta. Tasted April 2019.
Dal Peduncolo Rosso Torressella 2016 Refosco produced by Santa Margherita of Pinot Grigio fame. "Refosco" is an ancient grape that can be found in Croatia, western Slovenia, and the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy. The Torressella is full-bodied with ripe dark fruit, savoury herb flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm. Great value and a good for the cellar for five years. - Community Wine Reviews
