Torres Mas La Plana 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is dry, medium-plus-bodied with rich blackberry, spiced plum, dark cherry, cedar spice, mocha, dried sweet tobacco leaf and wild herb flavours finishing with a kiss of vanilla. Acidity is in balance and tannins are firm and fine-grained. If enjoying tonight, decant the wine for one hour prior to pouring it with a juicy T-Bone steak, or try it in 2023.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled tenderloin, roast rack of lamb, Porterhouse veal chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This is a stunning, juicy Cabernet Sauvignon with dark cherry and blackberry fruit hints, paired and balancing nicely with sage, cedar, and sweet tobacco. Full bodied with soft tannins (mellowed a bit with decanting) and bright acidity. Fruit notes are concentrated, rich and juicy on the palate, and there are hints of mocha/dark chocolate, dried woody herbs, more sweet tobacco and a hint of smoke. Enjoy with a grilled steak. This wine is lovely to enjoy now, but you could wait a couple of additional years too, if you prefer!
