Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 76/100 with the following review:

A friend brought this over, attracted by the 96 pt. rating. I was disappointed. The flavours are muddy, with neither the fruitiness nor acidity I would expect from this blend. Would not buy this again.

Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 75/100 with the following review:

I must confess this is one of the view times I fell for LCBO marketing. When i was in-line to purchase some wine I saw this one on sale for $7.95 proudly claiming a rating of 96 points. For a rating that high for a price that low I decided to check it out.

It is ruby red in colour with faint aromas of oak, cherry and plum. It is medium bodied, with low tannins and medium acidity. The flavour notes were very weak with faint flavours of sour cherry, tobacco, earth and dark chocolate. This would pair with grilled red meats.

So over all is this wine a 96? In my opinion, not even close. It is an OK wine for the price but personally I would rather spend another $8.00 and get a much better wine. (Tasted on March 16, 2019)
