Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous deep inky and opaque ruby colour. This is a southern Italian red blend - Aglianico 65%, Cabernet Sauvignon 25% and Syrah 10%. Organically grown and harvested grapes.

Pronounced aromas of blackberry, light plum, cassis, smoke, grilled red pepper, Star anise, fennel, cooked cherries with a note of earthiness and mint. On the palate - rich full dark cherry, light skinned plums repeated, cooked strawberries, licorice, black pepper heat and anise. An herbal note also present. Medium plus acidity, body and tannins with pepper heat on the finish. Incredibly well rounded and balanced. A little bit of salty earth on the tongue. Rich and elegant.

Pair with flank steak and red pepper salad or medium salty cheeses, Swiss, Manchego or Gruyere. 93 points - November 2017
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lots of black cherry and black plums. Dried herbs and flowers and a hint of spice and tobacco. 91 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Beautiful floral (violet) black cherry and plum aromas with a chewy (high tannin) mouthfeel and long lasting licorice, black plum and black tea flavours. High acidity, high tannins and concentrated flavours make this Trentangeli 2014 a price cellar worthy candidate, developing well through 2025. If indulging now pair with roasted bone in prime rib. Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is an unusual blend of Angelica (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), and Syrah (10%), that is organically grown in the southern region of Italy. It has some nice aromas of dark ripe fruit, anise and violets. On the palette, it is full bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel and medium tannins. It almost goes without saying, it is perfect for a red meat dish, maybe a classic Sunday ragu.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Juicy, balanced, big fruit, medium plus body, tannins, acidity. Pairs well with bbq steak, or braised beef lasagna. Tasted 2014 vintage in Nov 2017 89 points.
