Nice grassy, herbal nose and palate on this New Zealand white wine made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Toi Toi is pronounced as toy toy, and refers to the country's largest native grass. This Marlborough savvy finishes with gooseberry and passion fruit. Pair with shellfish.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: goat cheese and baguette, salads, smoked salmon and arugula pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pale straw colour with a momentous pronounced bouquet of typical Marlborough New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc characteristics showcasing white grapefruit pith, crisp green apple, nectarine, steely limestone, cut grass and a touch of gooseberry. Also a hint of guava. Flavours are quite juicy reflecting much of the aromatics. Citrus, lemon lime, crisp tart under ripe pineapple and starfruit. Rushing bright Acidity with a juicy zippy finish. Very well balanced and perfectly integrated allowing the fruit to reflect nicely. Pair with Herb layered goat cheese salad and fresh shellfish with lemon. Clean, crisp and refreshing. 90 points. From South Island, New Zealand, Toi Toi (2016) is a great value Sauvignon Blanc under $20. Grassy with notes of honey on the nose and pink grapefruit and white flowers on the palate. This is a juicy, enjoyable Sauvignon Blanc and was awarded a Gold Medal in the 2016 New World Wine Awards. - Community Wine Reviews
