A supple, smooth, full-bodied Californian Cabernet that's barrel aged in barrels that have fire-toasted heads (ends) to add extra toastiness and smoky flavours in the wine. Aromas of black fruit and oak. Pair with prime rib.

Aromas of black fruit such as black plum, cassis and cherry, smoke with gunwpoder and mocha notes. In the mouth, full body, good acidity. The wine showing flavors of green pepper, ripe dark fruits. Medium lenght and finale.
The name 'Toasted Head' derives from the winery's method of charring its barrels, specifically the tops and bottoms as well as the staves (long slates on the sides) to lend much more toasty, smoky aromas to the wine. This full-bodied Californian red wine is matured for 18-20 months in a both French and American oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews
