A seductive, juicy, dark-fruited red that has luscious, mouth-watering layers of flavour. Bring on the black plum, blackcurrant and dark spices. A long dry finish wraps up this package beautifully. Pair with a rib roast, meat casserole or lasagna.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Bill Hardy and what a lovely man. I got to taste a few new wines from his collection to commemorate his 40th Anniversary in the family wine business. The Tintara Shiraz was one of my favorites. Tintara is an Australian Aboriginal term for Orion's belt. This tasty Shiraz had rich dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa and vanilla from toasty oak. It was rich on the palate and thoroughly enjoyable.
If there were a prize for the perfect winter red, this version of Tintara Shiraz would be a contender. Big, rich style – really easy to drink this. It tastes of chocolate and raspberries, licorice and hay. It’s a sweet-flavour profile but an even-handed rendition of it. Mild amount of velvety tannin. Very enjoyable. Drink 2009-2012. Score: 91 Source: Campbell Mattinson, winefront.com.au, June 30, 2009
