Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Love this refined and elegant Sémillon (2022) from Tightrope Winery's Thomas Vineyard on the Naramata Bench, British Columbia. They certainly know how to treat this wine grape variety originally from the Bordeaux wine region on its own or in a blend.

Fresh and fragrant with medium-intensity aromas of white florals, fine herbs and citrus notes, the wine is dry, zesty, medium-plus-bodied with Elderflower, a hint of orchard fruit, fine herbs, lime and citrus zest crisp with medium-plus-acidity and a lingering briny mineral finish. Beautifully layered with balanced acidity, enjoy it chilled on its own on the patio on a sizzling summer day, or with salad greens topped with freshly steamed and chilled shrimp. Tasted June 2023.

The Sémillon grapes for this vintage were sustainably grown, hand-harvested, whole-cluster pressed and treated to a cool and slow fermentation (12°C) to preserve the wine's aromatics and was completed in 28 days. Only 131 cases made! Drink thru 2026.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
