From Naoussa, Macedonia wine region, Thymiopoulos 2018 Xinomavro is an unfiltered red wine produced from younger Xinomavro vines (around 15 years of age). Easy-to-enjoy, unoaked with rose petal, fresh cherry, ripe strawberry, anise and fine herbs on the palate. Lightly chill and enjoy with grilled lamb dishes.

Xinomavro food pairings: grilled rare steaks, blackened ribs with BBQ sauce, coq au vin, Cornish game hen, tomato tarte.

Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby wine with a fabulous aroma of strawberry, red currant, wet stone, raspberry, cherry, red plum and a hint of anise. Dry wine, medium high acidity, , medium body and alcohol, with minimal tannins. Red currant, red plum and wet stones dominated the palate. Pleasant to drink on its own and wonderful with aged cheddar.
