Solid value on this South Australia Shiraz from Thorn-Clarke. Terra Barossa is earthy, dark, rich and dense with lush blackberry and plum fruit finishing with liquorice spice -- a classic from Barossa. Campfire and hickory smoke on the nose with dried herbs. Full-bodied with layers of black plums and tar. Pair with roast beef.

Shiraz food pairings: grilled steak in a peppercorn-mushroom sauce, pizza, bison steak, grilled or spice-rubbed chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From way down under, this is a very dark garnet Shiraz giving dark berries, slight smoke and dried herb notes on the nose. Supple, spicy palate with rich, satiny texture and spicy finish. Well-balanced and elegant.

Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

While this SZ does not offer any surprises, the plus side is - it doesn't offer any surprises. Big, bold, soft acids. Just what Aussie SZ made their name with. A good example.
This is a great-value Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, from well-known producer, Thorn-Clarke. Terra Barossa 2016 is a full-bodied Shiraz with rich dark berries, ripe dark plum, and smoky liquorice spice flavours on the palate. Very smooth and approachable. Pair with grilled fare. - Community Wine Reviews
