Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Wonderful Riesling blend from the Beamsville Bench sub-appellation and Thirty Bench. Pronounced aromas of white flowers, pear, lychee, tangerine , lemon with a hint of lanolin give way to a palate of lychee, lemon and lime zest, tangerine and a nice minerality. Off dry, lower alcohol, and with racy acidity it is a pleasing sipper. This food friendly Riesling blend also paired well roast chicken and with salmon sashimi and an assortment of sushi; not afraid of ginger!
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This fresh, fruit forward Riesling has a lot to offer. Big nose with pronounced notes of white flower blossom, lime, and apple. Big flavours of tangerine, pineapple and a flinty finish. Noticeable acidity and a lick of sweetness. Pair with your favourite Thai dish- it will go wonderfully. Tasted March 2021.
Trent Mayers rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

An Ontario Riesling that brilliantly illustrates the citrus intensity that develops in the grape here. It’s off dry, but the compelling acidity makes it seem dry to the palate. Intoxicating aromas of lemon and lime pulp, lime peel, and grapefruit followed by a modicum of developing kerosene (it’s a good thing with aging Riesling). The citrus and freshness would make a good alliance with ceviche.

Pam Hatton rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Beautiful minerality and petrol showcase Niagara’s terroir underscoring apple, pear, peach and white blossom on the nose. Light bodied on the palate with exemplary minerality, saline and stone fruit. The medium long crisp green apple and grapefruit finish is slightly off dry and juicy (only in a wine review can you put dry and juicy together). The balanced acidity makes it a food friendly wine that will pair well with almost any light foods but will match especially well with crab.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

An outstanding example of Ontario Riesling from Thirty Bench Vineyards. Located in Niagara’s Beamsville Bench from local winemaker Emma Garner - The winemakers blend Riesling reveals a brilliant bouquet opening with bright, refreshing apricot, pear and petrol aromas. Flavours are mouthwatering with crisp green apple, lime zest and honey. Off dry with nicely balanced acidity that doesn’t come off too sweet with lingering minerals. It’s fondly and accurately dubbed, “Summer in a glass” as it truly tastes like rays of sunshine are approaching! A nice pairing for sweet and spicy Pad thai and green mango salad. Enjoy! - tasted February 2021
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Consistently great year after year! This is a quintessential Ontario Riesling, I recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful crisp and refreshing wine. Aromas of green apple, lemon zest, honeysuckle and a bit of saline minerality. Slightly off-dry on the palate, with vibrant, mouthwatering acidity, and a beautiful balance of vibrant citrus and minerality on a lengthy finish. Enjoy with any seafood, or salty goat cheese spread on crostini.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pronounced aromas of crisp green apple, juicy citrus, fresh picked stone fruit and pretty petrol mingled with a lovely flavour combination – green apple, tangerine and grapefruit slices, rich stone fruit, subtle saline, chalk minerality. A cool fermented creation from Ontario’s Beamsville Bench appellation, this off dry riesling featured a round, mouth coating palate and a lush finish. Serve along aside grilled chicken with a fresh peach balsamic sauce. Enjoy.

A wonderful expression of Niagara Riesling from the Beamsville Bench appellation of the Niagara Peninsula. This winery knows how to grow and make Riesling!
Aromas of crisp red apples, pear and fresh cut grass swirl in the glass, and carry through juicy red apple flavours.
Perfect with goat cheese, beet and arugula salad.
Tasted February 2021.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A light and clean Riesling produced by the Thirty Bench Winery, located on the Beamsville Bench in the Niagara Region, reveals delicious aromas of pink grapefruit, green apple, honeysuckle, ginger and petroleum. Its light body, and crisp and delightful finish will refresh your palate at every sip with flavors of citrus zest, green apple, apricot, vanilla, saline and beeswax. Enjoy!
