This Canadian reserve dry Gewürztraminer from the BC Okanagan valley is a gem. Its vinified dry, well balanced and carries a
Medium weight on the palate, medium acidity, fruit. Showing ripe Bartlett pear, ripe green apple, a hint of white pepper and fresh ginger. Paired exceptionally well with baked cauliflower nachos with aged cheddar, guacamole and fixings. Tasted Sept 2016 - @jonsteeves rated 90/100 bespoketastings.ca
The View Winery boasts spectacular views of Kelowna and Okanagan Lake. Sandy loam soils combined with long hot summer days and cool evening breezes from the lake are perfect conditions for The View’s signature fresh, fruity, aromatic wines. Originally built by Great Granddad Ward in 1922, the building in which we craft and cellar our wines was once the original Ward’s Apple Packinghouse and is the last from its era in the Okanagan. For five generations our family has supported a commitment to tradition, authenticity and excellence. Our alluring wines point to the future and celebrate the past.

This Dry Gewurztraminer shows a balance of both savoury and fruity aromatics on the nose and palate. The forward aromas offer grapefruit citrus and tropical fruit, with a background of apricot and mild spice. Nicely concentrated fruit on the palate resembling citrus is balanced by floral jasmine notes. Part of this wine (25%) was barrel fermented in Acacia and aged for 3 months Sur-Lie, adding weight and creaminess to the mouthfeel, making it distinctive and complex.
