Juicy, full-bodied and forgiving BC Cabernet with a sense of humour ... Hatchchild is a pun on Rothschild, the coveted Bordeaux first growth wine whose symbol is the ram, thus the big shaggy goat on the label. Similar wit to the Goats do Roam winery in South Africa ... they are a breed apart ;)

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: rare meats, meat lovers pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Big and bold, this wine commands attention. From the label to the nose which lead to a bold palate of concentrated dark blackberry, dill, oregano, aged earthy leather. Robust rich tannins, full-bodied, extra dry. Declared 14.1% ABV. Paired exceptionally well with a AAA beef tenderloin, roasted yellow beets and rosemary mashed potatoes. Tasted Dec 2016. Rated 93/100.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Rich robust and awesome! This wine shows gloriously layered notes of cassis, black plum, allspice, anise and black tea. Tannins, acidity, alcohol integration and flavour concentration are all superbly structured. Enjoy this full-bodied BC Cab sauv with braised beef lasagna. Tasted Dec 2016 - @sommsosa / bespoketastings.ca
