Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Quite young and a little restrained, but the potential is undeniable. Fruit first, fresh and preserved, with black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry quickly followed by anise and violets. Palate is dominated by dark fruits in its youth, featuring cherry, blueberry, blackberry, and plum. Toasty vanilla and oak emerge with breathing. Typically structured with big tannins, firm acidity, and a full body. Aged 18 months in a combination of French and American oak. With the acquisition of some Petit Verdot grapes from another grower, winemaker Barclay Robinson had the ability to dry some PV grapes for the first time. 22% appassimento, 15% Cabernet Franc and 7% PV, with 85% of the blend consisting of Verdot. Pair with rack of lamb, prime rib, or rare steak.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
