Fresh, full-bodied and invigorating: those adjectives don't usually go together but in this wine they blend beautifully. Although the alcohol is high, this full-bodied wine is nimble on its feet and tastes balanced and just right. Aromas of fleshy black fruit, just enough toast from oak and a cool breeze across a moor of garrigue on a long finish.

Reviews and Ratings

Neil Phillips rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep purple, with brighter red on the rim.

Nose of sweet spice cake, molasses biscuit, red plums, blueberry, a hint of vanilla. The alcohol is prevalent on the nose.

Racy on the palate, all about the bright red fruits (slightly stewed - almost chutney-like) with pepper, dried herbs, capsicum.

Medium-plus tannins remain firm, though it finished a tad shorter than I expected, initially. Having said that, structure is very good.
This full-bodied red wine is a blend of 40% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre and 5% Grenache Gris grapes, the latter being a rare white wine grape. The wine was matured for 1 year in concrete tanks then bottled unfiltered. Source: Winery
