Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The 2017 vintage of this Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend has a rich nose that opens with muted red fruits and fresh wet stones. A hint of barnyard floated up with a bit of coaxing. The palate is delightfully fresh with restrained fruit and very fine, polished tannins. A silky palate makes this another highly drinkable example from the Tenuta San Guido lineup. Enjoy with duck breast with a Cabernet reduction.
Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto 2017 is a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon splashed with Merlot from a hot vintage. Poised and well-crafted with red berry, dried red fruit, orange zest and licorice flavours on a fine, tightly-knit frame. Reveals itself in layers of concentrated ripe red fruit, sweet cherry, baking spice, white pepper and savoury spice, licorice and tanned leather. Tannins are fine, structured and acidity is in balance. Decant two hours prior to pouring with a rich grilled meat or roast pheasant dish. - Community Wine Reviews
