This wine is made by the coveted Sassicaia winery. Juicy and savoury with smoky black fruit and full-bodied richness. Lots of acidity. Needs a hearty meat dish. Decant 2 hours. Pair with Kobe beef.

Food pairings: rib eye steak, sirloin tip roast, long ribs on the barbie.

Reviews and Ratings

Simon Chen rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Second wine from the famous Sassicaia. 2015 is a good vintage and this wine definitely has more body and weight compared to the 2014 vintage. It has good blackberry fruits, med structure, and medium finish. Overall a good wine and can go better in the next 5 years. But it's not a wine that is memorable or will surprise you.
Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto (2015) is made by the renown Sassicaia winery in the Tuscany wine region. The wine is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a smaller amount of Merlot imparting a soft tone and lush mouthfeel to the wine. Drink now and for the next five years. Pair with filet mignon. - Community Wine Reviews
