Almost past peak, but you can enjoy it now. Leather, violets, cigar box and good acidity. Perfect balance. Not fruity: dry earth and old leather.

Barolo food pairings: herbed roast beef, roast veal, lamb, hamburgers, aged meats and cheeses, venison.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A beautiful Barolo from Italy's Piedmont region. Garnet red, with an aromatic nose showing cherry, cinnamon, clove, violets, pepper and leather. The luscious palate repeats the nose. A dry, harmonious velvety mouthfeel and a long ripe cherry finish. Aged in oak for 3 yrs. A wine to go well with hearty red meats or game.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
