Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Made from 100% Gagliappo grapes, this is a light to medium bodied wine with medicinal but fresh cherry on the nose and palate. Hints of hay add a bit of depth. Pair with osso bucco or saltimbocca. Tasted January 2020. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

A light-bodied red (rosso) Italian wine from the Gagliappo grape. Sweet floral and candied aromas with red fruit and liquorice on the palate. A fruity finish will pair well with tomato based dishes.
Tenuta Luzzolini Cirò 2017 is produced from 100% Gagliappo wine grapes sourced from the Calabria wine region. The grapes produced full-bodied reds high in alcohol and tannins. In short, wines made for ageing. The Gagliappo vine was introduced to southern Italy around the same time as the Aglianico vine. Look for ripe red berry, spicy and savoury flavours on the palate with good acidity for food. Pair with a meaty lasagne dish. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
