Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A delicate, light-bodied Pinot Gris showing aromas and flavours of pear and apricot with subtle minerality and white florals. Fermentation in stainless steel using Alsatian yeast.
Tasted May 2016
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Pleasant and light in style. Cultured yeast instead of wild yeast means we miss out on a bit of NZ character, here. They have done a nice job of preserving aromatics and minerality.
Very pale straw colour.
The aromatics show off some great stone fruit, guava, kiwi, lime juice, vanilla cream, and marshmallow dust.
More stone fruit, lime, and lemon on the palate. Generous mouthfeel. Quince, sour plum, and vanilla on the finish.
Good stuff. Delicious and accessible. It may show even more varoetal character as it ages. Less sterile winemaking methods would showcase the region much better. This producer and region (Wairau) is very capable.
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted Oct 8, 2017. Colour light pale straw, thick legs sticking to the glass. Aromas and flavours, lemon meets yellow apple, quince, orange peel, citrus zest. Taste dry, light plus body, mouthwatering, I like that. And a medium plus finish of citrus fruit. To me this wine delivers a complex nose, mouthwatering experience and an enjoyable finish. I would like to try the wine with some triple cream Brie. I did drink it with some dry roasted almonds. I have meet representatives of te Pa and liked what they poured.
Love to get the Pinot rose they had.
